- Objectives:
- Introduce and reinforce familiar vocabulary topics, such as colors, animals, numbers, body parts, etc.
- Provide basic sentence patterns for complete communication.
- Begin introducing letters, words, and sentence writing skills.
- Teaching Content:
Reading Skills:
- Picture recognition: Students identify words based on pictures.
- Phonics and word reading: Students learn to recognize letter sounds and blend them to read words.
- Sentence reading: Students practice reading simple sentences.
Writing Skills:
- Alphabet: Students learn to write the letters of the English alphabet.
- Word completion: Students complete words based on pictures or prompts.
- Sentence writing: Students write simple sentences using the learned vocabulary and grammar structures.
Speaking Skills:
- Full-sentence communication: Students are encouraged to speak in complete sentences.
- Role-playing: Students practice using simple but useful communication patterns through role-playing activities.
Listening Skills:
- Phonics discrimination: Students learn to distinguish between the sounds of different letters (e.g., ball/pall, mop/nod).
- Listening for letters, numbers, and words: Students practice listening for letters, numbers, and simple words in preparation for the Starters level.
